cFocus Software seeks a GIS Database Administrator & Developer to join our program supporting the Department of Customer and Border Protection (CBP). This position is on-site in Washington, DC.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Computer Science, Information Technologies, or other related fields
• 5+ years of experience in GIS, related development, and systems administration.
• Experience in GIS concepts and relational database administration is essential.
• Must be proficient in the coding of software and processing digital databases, and using GIS programming languages, Internet markup languages, and other technologies.
• Must have the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical computer users, both orally and in writing.

Duties:

• Work closely with the GIS user community to determine specific application requirements and specifications.
• Perform project planning, requirements analysis, database design, development and administration. Work independently to maintain database dictionaries, ensure database performance and resolve problems.
• Coordinate with GIS users to ensure implementation and monitoring of GIS databases.
• Manage the design and development of GIS databases and related master files and ensure system capacity for current and future requirements.
• Assist with the design and development of GIS applications and multi-layered maps.
• Design and implement data conversion procedures and perform software and database quality control.
